Our staff are selected very carefully, not only for their qualifications and experience but also for their love of children. We understand that continuity of care for the children is paramount and for that reason we are totally committed to promoting staff loyalty.
Below is a selection of our staff team from all three of our nurseries.
Nicola Lidbetter – Lead Manager
Nic is our awesome and fabulous Bluebell Lead Manager, working in partnership with our Operations Manager to support, guide, mentor, and coach our nursery Managers and teams across all three Bluebell Nurseries. Nic first started working at Bluebell Barn when it opened in April 2005 as a Senior Practitioner and loved being involved in setting up the nursery. Shortly after this She was promoted to Deputy Manager and loved working with the children as well as developing and gaining experience in other areas. In September 2007, the company opened their second nursery, Bluebell Hill and she was extremely excited to be promoted to Nursery Manager. During this time Nic enjoyed the challenge of setting up and developing Bluebell Hill working alongside a new team to create another fantastic Bluebell Nursery. In 2013 she gained her Early Years Teaching Status Degree.
As an Early Year’s Teacher, Nic plays an essential role in children’s development between birth and five, providing high-quality early education, which is where her passion for childcare and early education has developed. After having her daughter in 2014, she returned to her current role, as Lead Manager and loves working alongside the operations manager and supporting other managers and teams within all three settings. Nic has such a beautiful and fun personality and is a big part of our Bluebell Nurseries.
Sarah Field – Nursery Manager - Bluebell Hill
Sarah is our fabulous Nursery Manager at Bluebell Hill. Sarah started working for the company in 2007 as an apprentice where she completed her NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning, and Development. Over the years with great leadership skills, she has worked her way up to a Nursery Manager role. Sarah loves learning different aspects of the business and developing new skills, which is essential in childcare and her amazing personality makes her a Bluebell star. She enjoys being with her family in her spare time. Sarah has such a beautiful approach with all children and fantastic relationships with her staff and parents. Sarah is such a brilliant role model and is a massive part of Bluebell Children's Nurseries.
Brodie Lawson - Deputy Manager (Maternity Leave) - Bluebell Hill
Brodie is our amazing Deputy Manager at Bluebell Hill. She started working for the company in February 2020 as a nursery teacher and when the Deputy position came up, she jumped at the opportunity having worked in childcare since 2011 and gaining experience in her previous setting in leadership roles. Brodie is a new and rising bluebell star.
Brodie has completed her Level 3 in Leadership and Management and Makaton training. She is loving learning all of the business sides of the nursery while still spending lots of time in the rooms, mainly the under 2's where Brodie is based, watching the children learn, develop and grow. Her wonderful personality makes every day a fabulous day for our under 2’s.
Chloe Hemsley - Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover) - Bluebell Hill
Chloe is our amazing new (maternity cover) Deputy Manager at Bluebell Hill. Chloe has worked in childcare for 6 years, gaining lots of experience with all ages but her love lies with the 0-2-year olds. Chloe loves providing all children with new and fun experiences and helping them learn through play. Since Chloe has started in May 2021, she already has built up a fantastic relationship with the staff & children and is very excited to be meet all our wonderful families. We are so lucky to have Chloe as part of out wonderful team at Bluebell Nurseries.
Hannah Moors – Nursery Manager - Bluebell Barn
Hannah is our fantastic Nursery Manager at Bluebell Barn. Hannah started her career at Bluebell Barn in 2015 where she worked super hard and quickly gained her level 3 childcare qualification. Hannah was excited to be promoted to a Senior, based at our Bluebell Hill nursery. In 2018, Hannah had a baby boy and she enjoyed being a first-time mum and then returned to work and took on a new promotion and role as Deputy Manager.
We were so excited to promote Hannah again in September 2020 to our job share Nursery Manager role at Bluebell Barn. Hannah is finding this role extremely enjoyable and rewarding, to meet new children and their families, and to reconnect with families whose children she cared for back in 2015! Her favourite thing about her job is being there to support and guide our fabulous staff team, to build positive relationships with the wonderful children and their families, and to ensure their time at Bluebell is the best it can be.
Elle Hill - Deputy Manager - Bluebell Barn
Elle is our amazing Deputy Manager at Bluebell Barn. She started with Bluebell nurseries in September 2013 where she began as an apprentice, Elle worked super hard and achieved her level 3 qualification. In her exciting 7 years of working at Bluebell Barn, she has had the privilege of working across all 3 rooms with all ages between 0-5 years.
Elle has a wonderfully calm professional and bubbly personality that makes her the perfect Nursery teacher and leader.
Having recently been promoted and taken on the role of Deputy Manager, Elle continues her journey of awe and wonder at Bluebell Barn nursery
Nicky Long - Administration and Finance Assistant - Bluebell Barn
Nicky is our wonderfully experienced and super-efficient Administration & Finance Assistant and is based at Bluebell Barn. She started her career at our bluebell nurseries in 2014. Nicky’s own two children attended Bluebell Barn, she loved the nursery, and her children had the best early years experience, so when an exciting job opportunity came up Nicky was incredibly pleased to be offered the job. Nicky is fantastic to work with and we are all lucky to have her a part of our Bluebell team. she is fun, bubbly hardworking and super helpful. Nicky enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is a volunteer Admin Assistant for Eastbourne Rugby Clubs Under 8's team.
Abbie Tester - Nursery Manager - Bluebell Wood
Abbie Is our new fabulous Nursery Manager at Bluebell Wood. Abbie has worked in the Early Years sector for 20 Years. She has worked in various roles and holds an Early Years professional status. Abbie is also a qualified forest school leader and is very passionate about play and learning in the outdoors. Abbie is a mum to three children and loves nothing more than spending her time off with her family. Since Abbie has started Bluebell Children’s Nurseries in June 2021 she has been very hands-on building up fantastic relationships with the children, staff and parents. We are lucky to have Abbie as part of Bluebell Nurseries.
Harriet Crouch - Nursery Manager - Bluebell Wood
Harriet is our fantastic new Nursery Manager at Bluebell Wood and is working in partnership with Abbie. Harriet has over 14 years of experience working in the Early Years. She has held several different roles within the sector and has been a Nursery Manager since 2014.
In her spare time, Harriet also runs a consultancy business, in which she works with families to help with unwanted behaviour, and supports childcare settings to help improve practice and up-skill workforces. Harriet loves supporting and mentoring her team as well as the families she works with and is passionate about improving the outcomes of children and families. Harriet is a mum to two children and loves spending time with her family! Since Harriet has joined Bluebell Children’s Nurseries in June 2021 she has been very proactive in supporting her staff team and building up fantastic relationships with the children and parents. We are excited that Harriet is a part of Bluebell Nurseries.
Charlotte Miles – Deputy Manager - Bluebell Wood
Charlotte is our fabulous Deputy Manager at Bluebell Wood. She started working for the company in December 2019 as a nursery teacher and was excited when the Deputy position came up she knew she could not pass up the amazing opportunity, having worked in childcare since 2014.
Charlotte studied at Canterbury University where she gained her Level 6 in Early Childhood Studies. Charlotte loves working with children and is passionate about outdoor play and supporting children to build the skills to create lifelong friendships.
In her spare time, Charlotte loves to spend time with her family and friends. Charlotte has such a wonderful relationship with the children, staff, and parents and we are extremely lucky to have her as part of our Bluebell Nurseries.
Carmen Weller – Projects Co - Ordinator
Carmen is our fabulous marketing and social media genius she has been working for Bluebell Children’s Nurseries since April 2006. Carmen first began at Bluebell Barn as an NVQ Level 3 practitioner, throughout her long and successful career with Bluebell Nurseries she progressed to the Nursery Manager in January 2012. Carmen went on maternity leave 2016 to have her beautiful little girl and returned to a new part-time role working with the wider team, developing marketing, parent relations and social media. Carmen is such a huge part of Bluebell Nurseries and is such a joy to work with. Carmen is full of fun and character and is a shining bluebell star. She has such a fabulous and bubbly personality and is loved by everyone.
Hello everyone, my name is Shona and I currently work in the Panda room. I have been working for Bluebell for two years now and started as a student and progressed to a nursery assistant. I’m currently working towards my NVQ Level 3 and enjoying it. My favourite part about working with children is watching them grow and creating a bond and relationship with both the children and the parents.

Hello my name is Sarah, I have worked at Bluebell Barn nursery for over 10 years. I have an NNEB qualification and an NVQ in care where I worked on the children’s ward at Eastbourne District General Hospital for 6 years as a health care assistant. I have been working with children for over 20 years, I have a passion for caring, teaching and preparing children for the future. Since my youngest child started school I have become a lunchtime support but previously I have had experience in all the rooms as a Nursery Practitioner and have also been Senior of the Panda room.
