Starting your child at our nursery

Starting your child at nursery is a big change in a baby or child’s life, as well as a parent, so we want to make that transition as easy as possible for you.

Each child is unique and the amount of time that a child takes to settle into nursery can vary enormously. Therefore, children will be given time to settle in at their own pace, so as to make them feel welcome, safe and confident in a new environment.

Our settling in sessions allow your child to develop relationships with our staff and other children in their room, and also provide an opportunity for parents to discuss individual needs and routines with the key person.

    Key Persons

A key person is a named member of staff assigned to an individual child to support their development and act as the key point of contact with that child’s parents or carers. The key person system helps build and develop positive relationships with children and between parents, carers and staff.
